PASSION FOR LIGHT

50 YEARS WITH LIGHT AND INNOVATION

Loevschall is a specialist in the development of LED lighting for kitchens, bathrooms, and wardrobes. As a leading supplier to the kitchen and bathroom industry, Loevschall delivers lighting solutions to thousands of kitchens in markets including the Nordic countries, Germany, the UK, and France. With a focus on quality, innovation, and customized solutions, Loevschall has built a strong position over 50 years as a reliable partner and supplier.

Light has always been part of Loevschall's DNA

The company was established by Tage Løvschall in 1975, with a focus on light, just as it is today. Loevschall's history began with the production of built-in lighting for pine wood cabinets for the furniture industry. Since the beginning, Loevschall has kept pace with technological development, from the heyday of incandescent and halogen bulbs to the present day, where we develop low-energy LED solutions with the best color rendering on the market.

As a natural extension of lighting solutions for kitchens, bathrooms, and wardrobes, Loevschall has over many years built a very strong position in mirror lighting. Likewise, Loevschall has specialized in assisting design brands with the development of lighting products.

Today, Loevschall is a limited company with a broad international perspective. We are characterized by being an agile company that, due to extensive experience and short decision-making processes, develops high-quality products on time. Our vision is to be the preferred partner for uncompromising LED products and the highest quality mirrors.

THE HEART OF OUR PARTNERSHIP

Regardless of the collaboration we engage in, we approach the task with great care and expertise. That’s why we go to work every day to develop unique LED lighting solutions that make a visible difference for our customers' products and the spaces they are in – always with a focus on quality and the world around us.

THE HISTORICAL TIMELINE

1975-1980

The Foundation and Early Years

Loevschall's history began in 1974 when brothers Christian and Tage Løvschall purchased the hardware business owned by Oluf Hagensen. With the purchase, they laid the foundation for what would later develop into a leading player in lighting solutions. In 1975, the company’s history officially began when it was renamed Hagensens Eftf. v/Brødrene Løvschall, shifting its focus to selling products that the company is still known for today: light sources, electrical appliances, and lighting solutions, specifically for the furniture industry.

To create awareness about the company's products, they regularly participated in trade fairs, presenting the range to potential customers. This early strategy laid the foundation for the company's future growth and specialization.

1980's

Restructuring and Relocation to New Facilities

In the early 1980s, Hagensens Eftf. v/Brødrene Løvschall underwent significant changes in both ownership and structure. In 1981, Tage Løvschall took full ownership of the company as the sole shareholder, and four years later, in 1985, the company was transformed into Løvschall Randers A/S to meet growth ambitions and create a clearer business structure. Additionally, the company relocated from its original location on Jernbanegade in downtown Randers to a newly built warehouse and administration building on Nikkelvej in southern Randers in 1986. This move was a strategic step to secure greater capacity and more efficient workflows for Løvschall Randers A/S, considered an investment in future growth.

Product development became a significant part of the company's DNA, and new lamps were designed and developed in the growing department, which also included an expanding assembly department.

1990's

Expansion and Diversification

During the 1990s, Løvschall Randers went through a period of expansion and consolidation. In 1994, the existing warehouse and administration buildings were further expanded to meet rising demand. In these years, the company strategically focused on three core products: shelf lights, light sources, and sign lighting, which corresponded to the three main customer groups: the furniture industry, the sign industry, and public institutions.

Management was also reorganized in 1998 to ensure more efficient operations. Bent Kyndesgaard took over responsibility for production and was appointed managing director, while Tage Løvschall focused on the commercial department, including working with the company's agents. This clear division of responsibilities contributed to a more agile and focused management.

2000's

Modernization and Globalization – Transition to LED Technology

The transition to the 21st century marked a new phase for Løvschall Randers, characterized by modernization, globalization, and technological development. In 2001, Tage Løvschall retired, and Bent Kyndesgaard continued as managing director until 2006 when Søren Meincke took over. That same year, the company changed its name to Loevschall A/S to signal a more modern and international profile.

In the early 2000s, production was moved to China, and to ensure quality, communication and to stay ahead of cultural differences, Loevschall established in 2005 an office in China, which today employs three colleagues who have been with the company since the beginning.

In 2005, Loevschall introduced mirrors with built-in lighting as a new product category. This initiative was a direct response to market demand and quickly became a success. The first product, Godhavn, was launched with halogen lighting and is today a true Loevschall classic. With its timeless design, it has followed the evolution from halogen to fluorescent and on to modern LED technology.

In 2008, Loevschall took a decisive step and began producing LED lighting. LED bulbs represented a quantum leap compared to earlier technologies, with a lifespan of over 30,000 hours, minimal heat development, and significant energy savings. This technology not only allowed for more flexible and elegant designs but also nearly maintenance-free solutions. For customers, it meant fewer complaints, lower operating costs, and a more environmentally friendly lighting solution.

2010's

Smart Technology and Sustainability

As LED technology matured, Loevschall began integrating smart home features into its products. From mirrors with touch sensors and adjustable color temperature to LED lights controllable via apps, innovation was the driving force. At the same time, sustainability became a central priority in both product development and production.

In 2016, Loevschall was acquired by the investment company Færch & Co. At this time, Loevschall’s customer base included the Nordic countries, Germany, and the UK, and with Færch & Co. as a partner, the company was able to focus on both product and geographical expansion.

Current Position and Future Vision

Today, Loevschall stands as a leading player in LED lighting and mirrors for kitchens, bathrooms, and wardrobes. With an international profile, the company focuses on both the B2B market and partnerships with private label and design brands.

Loevschall's products are known for their minimalist design, high quality, and smart features such as dimming, color adjustment, and energy efficiency. With a focus on private label partnerships and international markets, Loevschall constantly works to develop its solutions to meet today’s demands for both aesthetics and sustainability.

The company has also taken an important step in the digitalization of its business and has established a customer-oriented online platform with easy access to the company’s products and online commerce. A self-service solution that makes it easier for customers to shop at any time of day.

In January 2025, the company moved its administration to P. O. Pedersens Vej 2 in Aarhus N. This followed the relocation of Loevschall's warehouse to Maersk Logistics in Taulov - a scalable and modern Co2-neutral warehouse. The 4PL solution ensures Loevschall a competitive and future-proof logistics set-up, where Loevschall can optimize the entire flow from production site to customer delivery. Both economically and from a sustainability mindset.

In short, Loevschall has not only undergone significant changes over the past 50 years but has also experienced continuous development while managing to maintain its core vision: “To be the preferred partner for uncompromising LED products and the highest quality mirrors.”
